What the government shutdown means for Seniors and Vets

Democrats and Republicans were unable to resolve their differences over Obama care, and the failure to pass a basic funding bill has shut down the government. So what does this mean for you?

Essentially, government functions are split between "essential" and "nonessential". Fortunately for many seniors, Veterans Pensions, social security checks, Medicare and Medicaid will still be running. This means that elders receiving government benefits can rest easy knowing that their financial assistance will still be coming in the mail. The Veterans Administration offers a variety of financial aid programs designed to assist older or disabled veterans with their living and home care expenses.

A-1 Home Care provides free consultations for seniors who may qualify for these benefits. We are a local in home care agency with an A+ rating with the BBB. Let us know if we can help you with forms or questions about federally funded financial aid. We welcome your call.
