Caregivers Ready to Give Diabetic Care

There is a lot of misinformation that is being spread about people who have diabetes. We will often see people joke about how a diabetic person's limbs may "fall of" after eating a slice of cake and it may warrant laughter from around the room. Of course, that isn't necessarily true, but like with many jokes, there is a truth factor to it. People who are diabetic have high blood sugar in their system due to an inability to produce insulin. Therefore, if there is too much sugar in their system, it could cause for some complications, though it's not too severe as having one's limbs immediately amputated.

We, here at A-1 Home Care, are a lot more knowledgeable with what can occur with patients who have Diabetes. That's why we are considered #1 in Los Angeles and Orange County in delivering the best and most compassionate in home and live in caregivers. No matter the service, be it Diabetic Care or Senior Care, we guarantee that we will be there for you, so why not try us out!

When parents need guardianship/ A-1 Home Care

What do you do when a parent can no longer care for him/ herself?

An elderly guardianship appointment is generally made once a court has determined that an elderly person is incompetent. The specific requirements for incompetency vary from place to place. As a general rule, however, whether a senior person is legally competent or not hinges on his ability to make informed and educated decisions about his affairs. Another influencing factor is whether the person is able to meet his physical needs.

Om the case that loved ones cannot care for themselves physically, it may be time to consider live in home care or adult day care options.

A-1 Home Care arranges 24 Hour Care in Monrovia. Our live in caregivers can provide holiday cooking using minimal fats and healthy, varied ingredients. We provide care in Monrovia, Duarte, Arcadia, Pasadena, El Monte, South Pasadena, San Marino, Altadena and Sierra Madre.  We are experts in at home Elder CareAfter Surgery Care and Post Stroke Recovery.

Holiday Art Making with Two Palms Convalescent in Pasadena

On Monday, a few of us from A-1 Home Care/ A-1 Domestic Professional Services corporate family took a trip up to Pasadena to do some holiday themed arts and crafts for the elders at Two Palms Nursing Center. We'd never been here before, so it was an exciting moment for us. We trekked together, braving the freeways, for an afternoon of crafts and fun.

After watching a fun Christmas presentation featuring a montage of classic movie moments, we got to work on our glitter decorated ornaments:

Everyone worked really hard, and we discovered lots of artists in our midst. While chattering away, and making art together, we made lots of new friends. The elders at Two Palms were so welcoming and friendly!

This is Verne, who was a talker. He told us stories about his exciting life as an airplane mechanic, and funny anecdotes about living on a farm with 10 brothers and sisters.
We were so happy to get the opportunity to interact and play with the people living at the center. After the hour was up, there were reluctant protests from seniors who wanted to continue decorating! How flattering.

Thanks Two Palms Nursing Center! We hope to see you again soon.
